About the Position

We are looking for a seasoned Audio Engineer -- someone who has the expertise to come in and quickly assess and identify needs. You'll be helping to define and build out new products, as well as learning from the amazing work our core team has already done. Our company is passionate about audio quality and engineering, and we're excited to welcome a like-minded engineer to the team. This is a senior-level position in a small team.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Write C++ code that is used throughout the audio pipeline
  • Optimize processing performance within an existing codebase
  • Experiment with finding new ways to optimize and utilize our audio technology, including Wasm, mobile development, and custom codecs
  • Dig into the details of WebRTC's audio support, especially as it relates to threading, buffering, and codecs
  • Debug known bugs and help hunt down new ones
  • Write efficient and quality code and unit tests

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities  

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience as an audio engineer, with a focus on audio processing, codecs, DSP, spatialization techniques, and other advanced audio topics
  • Degree or extensive experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • C++ programming experience of multi-threaded software, on Windows or Linux
  • Strong attention to detail: proactively think of the corner cases
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions at a fast-paced, growing technology company
  • Comfortable with reading and understanding academic papers
  • Self-starter that anticipates needs and doesn’t need a lot of oversight, with a “no-task-too-small-or-too-big” attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Extra credit: Experience with synchronized audio for VR, 360 or other immersive visual content
  • Extra credit: Experience in film or game pipelines, game audio development, or game sound design
  • Extra credit: Experience with WebAssembly and/or other assembly languages
